MCC warns candidates of ‘fake’ notice on NEET UG 2022 Special Stray Vacancy Round admission date

NEW DELHI: The Medical Council of India (MCC) has warned medical aspirants of a fake notice circulating on social media regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) special stray vacancy round admission last date.
According to the ‘fake’ notice, the last date to apply for admission against the NEET UG special stray vacancy round for MBBS and BDS seats of all India quota is January 20, 2023, while as per the MCC, this is not correct.
The MCC has stated that the notice is not authentic and has advised students to refer only to the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) for accurate and updated information on the NEET UG examination.
“It is always important to be cautious and verify information from official sources before taking any action,” MCC said.
“Necessary action will be taken against any person indulging in such malicious activities. Candidates are also advised to lodge a complaint in Cyber Crime Cell or an FIR,” MCC added.
The NEET UG special stray vacancy round is a special round of counselling for candidates who were not allotted an MBBS/BDS seat in the regular NEET UG counselling process. This round is conducted for candidates who have not yet been allotted a seat in any of the medical or dental colleges in India.
The special stray vacancy round is an opportunity for candidates to secure a seat in a medical or dental college that may still have some vacant seats available.
The counselling process for the special stray vacancy round is conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) and is usually held after the regular NEET UG counselling process is completed. Candidates who are eligible for the special stray vacancy round can apply for it through the official website of the MCC.
